We purchased this car back in 2005. At the time we bought it was only three years old. We thought it would be a good family car to last us a while. We'd had it completely paid off for about five years but we had put so much money into it for repairs including automatic windows and two transmissions that we were just sick of the car, especially since we both felt in our bones that another issue was soon ready to slam us. So in February we decided to sell it and get a new one. The car we drive now is a 2008 red Saturn Vue that looks like this except ours has racks on top.
Neither of us missed the Bonneville for even a second. It was oh so nice to actually park a car in our garage that we could walk around. That Bonneville was so long!! It's fun having an SUV type car that rides so high off the ground too. It gets about an average of 24 mpg and we've been really happy with it. And since selling the car went so well and gas prices were so high, John decided to sell his truck too! Awesomely, he was able to sell it online for what he had purchased it for a few years before.
Then he invested in a little beauty like this one, except ours is in desperate need of a paint job. However, it runs great, had low miles, and gets about 38 mpg, so we certainly aren't complaining!
This little girl was one happy baby. She's always been easy going in temperament, although noticeably more emotional than her brother was. I love all of her cute facial expressions.
Often when I'd snap a picture, I'd get a look like this one because of her reaction to the flash, but it always made me laugh.
She began mimicking our sounds around this time and could make out "da" and "mom." I was able to capture both and put together this cute movie of her. She's been a parrot of sounds ever since then.
Joseph always wants to share in the attention that Kaili receives, and we got a huge kick out of his desire to show how he could make these same seemingly amazing sounds too!
Kaili loved (and still does love) her bathtime. She's always had a blast in the water.
She really enjoyed jumping in her jumperoo.
And she has a really interesting relationship with animals. She really loves them, however, seems to get emotional around them as well. So although she'll be excited to see an animal, the sounds she makes seem like she's crying. It's really strange.
One time Kaili showed up to a family gathering in the same outfit as her cousin Airika. It was unplanned. That's what we get for twin hand-me-downs!
At about 9 1/2 months, Kaili finally began scooting around, with great effort. I love her squeal of frustration at the beginning of this clip.
Kaili is sure loved by her older brother who loves to play with her. I thought it was so cute one day to see that he had tucked Kaili in with her dolly and then joined them under the blanket.
Sometimes I think of what a blessing it is that my kids have a life filled with so many people who love them and treat them kindly. If they only knew what a true blessing that really is!
